Disney+ Day Preview
Disney+ is taking time to celebrate fans! Disney’s content catalog is nearly unrivaled, so they are bringing together all their properties to make their own holiday. In 2021, this event took place on the original launch day of Disney+ on November 12th but its moved up to September 8, 2022. This year’s Disney+ day will include new films, shows, and in-person celebrations at Disney Parks around the world. Additionally, AMC theaters will be hosting “fan-favorite” screenings of Disney films for a discounted price. See below for the Disney+ Day Preview for all the ways you can join in.
Films
Pinocchio: This treasured story has been brought to life as a live-action and CGI adventure. It revisits the classic tale audiences know and love: Pinocchio, the wooden puppet created and loved by Geppetto, and whose only dream was to become a real boy.

Frozen and Frozen 2 Sing-Alongs: Venture into the unknown, let it go, and discover loads of fun alongside Anna and Elsa when Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen and Frozen 2 Sing-Alongs come to Disney+!
Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder: The newest installment in Thor’s story is making its way to Disney+! This time, Thor enlists Jane Foster’s help to fight Gorr the God Butcher, who is trying to kill all of the gods.

Cars on the Road: Lightning McQueen is back with his buddy Mater as they take an adventure-filled cross-country road trip to meet Mater’s sister!
Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances: This special is a look back on the 20 most memorable dances of 30 seasons of Dancing with the Stars, chosen by the Pro-Dancers. Hosted by Derek Hough, Kym Johnson, Cheryl Burke, and Brandon Armstrong, we’ll see them count down to their most unforgettable performance. It all leads up to season 31, premiering live only on Disney+.
Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory: Watch and discover as National Geographic Explorer Bertie Gregory takes audiences on exciting journeys to the most remote areas of the wilderness.
Growing Up: Growing Up is an exciting new coming-of-age docu-series that explores the ups, downs, and complexities of adolescence. Each of the ten compelling stories centers on one individual’s story.
Marvel Studios’ Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder: Settle in with the likes of Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, and Tessa Thompson, and as they divulge the secrets behind the creation of Thor: Love and Thunder. Through in-depth interviews with cast and crew, along with raw, unseen footage from the set and beyond, Assembled pulls back the curtain on the God of Thunder’s fourth feature film.
Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: (Episode 4): Marvel’s newest series drops another episode on Disney+ Day. The series centers on the life of attorney Jennifer Walters, who must learn to navigate her new life after an accident suddenly leaves her with powers she’s never before experienced.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return: Featuring all new behind-the-scenes footage, colorful personal stories and meaningful moments, Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return showcases the making of Lucasfilm’s original limited series for Disney+, Obi-Wan Kenobi. This insightful documentary explores the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to the screen—and Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to their respective roles. Director Deborah Chow, cast and crew reflect on their journey to tell a new story with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader and Princess Leia, while introducing new heroes and villains into the saga along the way.
“Remembering”: Where do ideas come from? And where do they go when they’re forgotten? These central questions are brought to life in “Remembering”, an original short film by Emmy® Winning director Elijah Allan-Blitz, starring Academy Award® winner Brie Larson. With a first of its kind companion Augmented Reality app, where the AR experience is triggered by the film’s moving image, select Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. can interact with the story by scanning the TV to extend The World of Imagination into their living room.
“Welcome to the Club”: A new Short from The Simpsons: Heart set on becoming a princess, Lisa Simpson is surprised to learn being bad might be more fun.
Tierra Incógnita: Tierra Incógnita follows Eric Dalaras, a teenager who discovers a hair-raising world while searching for the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of his parents. Raised by his maternal grandparents, Eric decides to run away from home and go back to his childhood town to find answers where his parents were last seen: the Tierra Incógnita horror theme park.
AMC
Disney Fan-Favorite screenings are available at AMC (see website for details) for only $5 per ticket. The films included are “Encanto”, “Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok”, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, “Cars” and “Disney’s Newsies”. Discounted tickets are not limited to Disney+ subscribers and include a limited edition poster. If you are a subscriber you can receive discounted concessions.
Disney Parks

Disneyland: Disney+ subscribers and their travel party with valid tickets and park reservations will be able to enter the park 30 minutes early, 60 minutes if you are staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel. Also, guests can enjoy character meet-and-greets and complimentary Disney PhotoPass photo downloads at select locations at the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Resort hotel guests can see a special movie screening at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel.
Disneyland Resort will host special Disney+ themed blue food and drinks throughout the resort, including a blue-dusted churro and blue cocktails at select restaurants in Downton Disney.
Walt Disney World: Disney+ subscribers and their travel party with valid tickets and park reservations will be able to enter the parks 30 minutes early, 60 minutes if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Also, guests can enjoy complimentary Disney PhotoPass photo downloads at select locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will host Disney+ character meet-and-greets and cavalcades “plus” more magic throughout the day. Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can wind down with a special Disney+ screening at Movie Under the Stars.
Disneyland Paris: A special blue-themed chocolate hazelnut donut will be available to celebrate the day along with photo ops. Disney+ subscribers will be able to enter the park starting at 9:00 am (30 minutes before park opening).
Hong Kong Disneyland: Disney+ Day celebrations will take place on September 10th.
Disney Cruise Line: According to the Disney Parks Blog, “During the Aug. 29-Sept. 5 Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise, members aboard the Disney Wonder will be treated to special gifts from Disney+ and 9 exclusive shows and experiences supporting current and upcoming Disney+ programming.”
